Like everyone during the winter Olympics, I turn on the TV each night hoping that they will be featuring my favorite, and most exiting competition \u2013 Curling!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just kidding! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like EVERYONE, I sigh with dread each time they show it.  Why don\u2019t they show more of the half pipe?  That\u2019s what we\u2019re thinking.  Snowboarders flying through the air, doing super quad twists and flips and turns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the percentage of viewers interested in curling?\u00a0 One percent<\/em>?\u00a0 Or, let\u2019s be serious \u2013 one-tenth of one percent? \u00a0I apologize for my sarcasm.\u00a0 I know that one-tenth of one percent is a gross exaggeration.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, last night, I turned on the Olympics, and I was thrilled with my good fortune! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Curling?!  Again!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uhh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But, like every devoted television viewer, I left the channel on and started watching (with a snack in hand, of course).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a few minutes, I realized that if I were going to continue watching, I\u2019d need at least four double espressos.\u00a0 Or perhaps I could hire someone to sit next to me and every two minutes, poke me with an electric cattle prod.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then, of course, the narcissism kicked in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How hard could this be? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How good would I be at it?  Conveniently, because this \u201csport\u201d (Seriously? A sport?), moves at a glacial pace, it left me with ample time to ponder this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First off \u2013 I would need to specialize in being that guy who aims and then pushes the \u201crock.\u201d\u00a0 That would be my thing.\u00a0 Frankly, the job of sweeping in front of the rock as it glides along looks exhausting.\u00a0 Not for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And what about those brooms?  Is it like baseball, where All-Stars endorse their own bats?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, I won\u2019t take the time to look into this, but I\u2019d bet they sell \u201cfamous\u201d curlers\u2019 brooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I can already imagine the Nike commercial: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dramatic music swells as the \u201cfamous\u201d curling champion stares intensely into the camera and whispers, \u201cJust Sweep It.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
