Bungy jumping, big wave surfing, skydiving \u2013 all these have\none thing in common, they\u2019re kids\u2019 play! \nI\u2019m now driving the speed limit! \nCop cars are shooting past me right and left.  On their way to an emergency?  No, on their way to lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember when the highway speed limit was 55 mph during the\n1970\u2019s gas crunch?  The government\npromoted it with that catchy phrase \u2013 \u201c55 and stay alive?\u201d  Guess what? \nI\u2019ve been driving 55 mph for the last two weeks, and I\u2019m absolutely\nAMAZED that I\u2019m still alive.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the flipside, my non-hybrid Honda Accord no longer\nrequires any gas.  See for yourself \u2013<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Okay, a little gas, but not much!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve been looking for ways to reduce my stress since my last blood pressure reading was higher than the average PowerBall jackpot.\u00a0 They call high blood pressure, \u201cThe Silent Killer.\u201d \u00a0This is also the name I call my daughter\u2019s dog, especially after he\u2019s eaten a chunk of cheese.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I digress!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew I had to take swift action.  I thought to myself, Jack, why not slow\nthings down, take your time\u2026  perhaps die\nin a fit of some maniac\u2019s road rage? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The picture above is a line of cars I pulled over to let\npass.  My grievous sin?  Following the law.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In all seriousness, I\u2019m absolutely loving it.  And I know what you\u2019re thinking.  You\u2019re thinking that I\u2019m such a pathetic\ncheapskate that all I care about is saving money on gas.  Well, you\u2019re right!  But I also enjoy my new slower-paced\nlifestyle. So please consider joining those over 75, a percentage of the\ncriminally insane, and me, in the slow lane!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Driving the speed limit isn\u2019t the right choice for\neverybody.  For example, traveling\nsalespeople, pizza delivery guys and Los Angles Uber drivers, might find it\nimpossible.  And, of course, cops headed\nto lunch. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
