If you\u2019re someone concerned about global warming, I\u2019ve got good news.\u00a0 You know all those millions of three-wheeled jalopies spewing plumes of black smoke into the air each day?\u00a0 Zillions of them?\u00a0 Throughout Asia? Pouring millions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere.\u00a0 You can stop worrying!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bought an\ne-bike!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What I\u2019m\ntrying to say is this:  I\u2019ve saved the\nearth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the rise\nin the earth\u2019s temperature, and concern about the future of our planet, you\nmight have already guessed the main reason I bought an e-bike.  And that reason is, of course-<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m lazy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After researching e-bikes for months, I learned a lot.\u00a0 First off, there are three basic categories of electric bikes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCategory 1\u201d e-bikes.\u00a0 These bikes require that you pedal, but they help you pedal with a feature creatively called, \u201cpedal assist.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCategory 2\u201d e-bikes.\u00a0 These bikes, like Category 1 e-bikes, can help you with \u201cpedal assist.\u201d\u00a0 However, they also have a throttle! These bikes can zip you along at up to 20 miles per hour without your feet ever touching the pedals!\u00a0 So, if you’re a wise e-bike consumer, and by wise, I mean lazy, you can just twist the throttle and off you go!\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the \u201cCategory 3\u201d e-bike.\u00a0 These bikes also have a throttle, and they can speed you along up to 28 miles per hour.\u00a0 But sadly, most jurisdictions require that you have a license and insurance to ride them.\u00a0 AND, you can\u2019t ride them on the bike paths.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, if you’re too lazy to pedal, and you also happen to be cheap, the Category 2 e-bike is the one for you.\u00a0 That\u2019s my Category 2 e-bike in the picture.\u00a0 It\u2019s a Lectric bike.\u00a0 No, that\u2019s not a typo.\u00a0 The company just left the \u201ce\u201d off the word electric and named their company \u201cLectric.\u201d\u00a0 Their creative team must have spent the better part of three seconds coming up with that marketing gem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
