Being the victim of a violent crime is life altering.\u00a0 This is especially true if the offense is not only violent but invades your privacy.\u00a0 I should know.\u00a0 I am now tragically among the ranks of our nation\u2019s faceless victims.\u00a0 How?\u00a0 A guy named \u201cBob\u201d recently hacked my family\u2019s Netflix account.\u00a0 That\u2019s him in the picture.\u00a0 I had innocently enough opened our Netflix account to watch the next episode The Great British Baking Show, and BAM, there was Bob.\u00a0 I immediately shot out a message to my family\u2019s text thread asking who let Bob into our account.\u00a0 Everybody denied it.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The whole experience was harrowing.\u00a0 From now on, whenever I point my tv remote to click on Netflix, my hand shakes with trepidation.\u00a0 Who, I wonder, will I find lurking in there?\u00a0 (It\u2019s exactly like being the victim of an armed home invasion, except with no guns, and, of course, no ACTUAL invasion.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will now bravely\ntell the rest of my story of survival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throwing caution to the wind, I clicked on Bob\u2019s account to see what he had been watching.\u00a0 Low and behold, the last program he watched was the Gilmore Girls.\u00a0 I have never seen the Gilmore Girls, but using my above-average deductive skills, I thought to myself, ‘Is Bob a girl?’<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nprompted me to shift my effort back to lambasting my daughters on whether they let\nBob into our account.  More blanket denials.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After hitting the dead end with my daughters, I clicked back onto Netflix, only to find that Bob had now LOCKED US OUT OF HIS PROFILE!\u00a0 (See the little lock symbol below his face in the picture?!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was the\nfinal straw.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The saga ended somewhat unceremoniously.\u00a0 Because I have all of the technological skills of a orangutan, \u00a0I told my tech-savvy daughter Zoe to eliminate Bob using any and all means necessary.\u00a0 Nothing was off the table!\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five seconds\nlater, she did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bob is now\ngone.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But a word to the wise:\u00a0 Keep a sharp eye out.\u00a0 Bob might be eyeballing YOUR Netflix account right now!\u00a0 If you see him, tell him I said, \u201cHi.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
